ATS Resume Checker for Human Resources (2026)

Nobody knows better than an HR professional how an ATS is actually used: over 90% of large employers run one, and recruiters fill roles by searching it by keyword — resumes that don't contain the searched terms never surface. Yet HR resumes go unfound the same way — because HR work spans so many specialties that a generalist resume ("supported all HR functions") matches none of the specific terms a posting screens for: "talent acquisition," "employee relations," "HRIS," "Workday."

3 resume tips for HR professionals

  1. Name each specialty you've actually owned. "Supported the employee lifecycle" matches nothing; "ran full cycle recruiting, onboarding, and performance management" matches three screened terms. List the functions by their standard names, not an umbrella phrase.
  2. Name your HRIS and systems. Workday, ADP, an applicant tracking system you administered. HR postings screen for system names as hard as tech postings screen for programming languages — and "maintained employee records" names no system at all.
  3. Quantify people operations. Requisitions filled per quarter, time-to-fill, headcount supported, retention or engagement-score improvements, payroll size. HR generates real numbers — resumes that show them survive screening and read as operators, not administrators.
