3 resume tips for nurses

1. Name the systems, not just the work. If you charted in Epic, write "Epic" and "electronic health records (EHR)" — screening software searches for the product name and the acronym, not a description of charting.
2. Give certifications their own section, both ways. Spell each one out once with the abbreviation: "Basic Life Support (BLS)", "Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)", "Registered Nurse (RN)" with your state and license number policy permitting. Different systems search different forms.
3. Quantify your care. Patient load per shift, unit size and type, reduction in falls or readmissions, satisfaction scores you contributed to. Numbers survive screening and convince the human who reads you next.
