ATS Resume Checker for Sales Reps (2026)

You know what happens to a pitch that never reaches the decision-maker. That's your resume: over 90% of large employers screen applications with software, and roughly 75% are cut on keywords before a hiring manager sees them. Sales resumes get filtered because they tell the story ("consistently beat my numbers") instead of matching the search terms — "quota," "pipeline management," "prospecting," "Salesforce" — that the recruiter actually types in.

3 resume tips for sales reps

  1. Put your quota attainment in numbers, on every role. "112% of quota FY2025," average deal size, pipeline generated, ramp time. Sales is the easiest field to quantify — a sales resume without numbers reads as a resume without wins.
  2. Name your CRM and your motion. Salesforce, HubSpot; outbound or full-cycle; B2B SaaS or enterprise. Postings and recruiter searches use these exact terms — "managed customer relationships" matches none of them.
  3. Mirror the posting's sales vocabulary. If they say "pipeline management" and you wrote "managed my book of business," you don't match. Translate your experience into the posting's wording wherever it's genuinely true.
